Your LinkedIn profile is your digital handshake.
Candidates, clients, and future business partners will look you up before deciding if they want to work with you.

This guide will help you build a credible profile in under 20 minutes.

  • People trust profiles with photos 14x more than profiles without them.

    Quick rules:

    • Face forward

    • Neutral or confident expression

    • Good lighting

    • Business casual or professional outfit

    • Plain background or office environment

    Avoid:

    • Group photos

    • Sunglasses

    • Selfies in cars

    • Party pictures

    If you don’t have one yet, take a quick photo in the office.

    Start with what helped shape you.

    Examples:

    • athletics

    • hospitality / restaurants

    • school / degree

    • previous industries

    Example:

    2️⃣ What You’re Doing Now

    Explain your current role and industry.

    Example:

    I currently work in event marketing where I help brands and nonprofit organizations connect with communities through face-to-face campaigns.

    3️⃣ What You Enjoy About It

    Show your motivation or strengths.

    Example:

    I enjoy building teams, developing leadership skills, and working in fast-paced environments where performance and growth matter.

    4️⃣ Your Future Goals

    End with what you’re building toward.

    Example:

    My long-term goal is to continue developing as a leader while helping others grow their careers in marketing and sales.
